It looks charming as a weekend retreat doesn't it?

It is for sale at "Offers over £247,000" and here is the estate agent's description:

"Located on the Dungeness National Nature Reserve is this exceptional detached fisherman's cottage set in approximately half an acre.

The property offers three bedrooms, two receptions, loft room, conservatory, kitchen and bathroom. This is a property not to be missed!'

What the advertisement does not say is that, although there is a lovely view towards the sea from the front of the property, this is what you see when you look out of the back door:

In the advertisement there is no mention of the Dungeness A and B nuclear power plants within a hundred yards.

One house hunter said he was horrified when he turned up to view the cottage last week.

'It was unbelievable. I had seen the property online and thought it looked just right for me and my family.

'The photos make out it is an isolated cottage with nothing surrounding it at all - but that could not be further from the truth.'

Dungeness A was decommissioned in 2006 and is planned to be turned into a waste store by 2014.

But Dungeness B, an advanced gas-cooled reactor power station, is still active, and there are plans to build a third plant nearby, Dungeness C.
