The average woman spends more than an hour getting ready for a night out, a study has revealed.
The preparation routine will involve 15 minutes in the bath or shower, 21 minutes doing their hair,17 minutes trying on outfits and 12 minutes applying make-up.
The survey also found that merely planning the big night out will have involved four phone calls totalling around 55 minutes.
Eight per cent of women take more than two hours to get ready, the poll of 3,000 women revealed.
According to the survey by Table Table, a restaurant and pub website, the average night out is likely to involve four or five friends who go out at about 8.05pm.
Once out and about, women will spend a further 29 minutes fixing their hair and make-up in the lavatory of the venue.
They will arrive home five hours and 22 minutes later.

My father was going to take my sister to an important dinner with lots of VIP guest speakers, but there was a last minute crisis at home, and I had to accompany him instead. I went from slob dresser who had spent the day cooking and cleaning, to showered, dressed in posh frock with hair and make-up done in the 10 minutes flat from my sister's phone-call to being ready to leave.
My formula:-
- Do hair while sitting on the loo.
- Shower.
- Clean teeth and do make-up while wrapped in large towel getting dry.
Be Prepared :-
- Make sure all your poshest frocks either go with the same black accessories or have their own accessories in a bag on the same hanger as the dress.
- Always have an unopened packet of neutral coloured stockings/tights.
- Always put your good shoes away clean and polished.
- Never let your hair get dirty, and choose a style that is simple to comb through or to twist into a bun.
By the way, I never spend longer in any public loo (however posh) than is strictly necessary for comfort and hygiene.
