Do any of you remember this song from the 50s ?
It was, I believe, recorded by Don Cornell and was number one in the charts for several weeks.
So this is the garden of Eden
In dreams it was never so grand
Let's never leave again, Adam and Eve again
Hold my hand.
I came across it again recently and it made me think:
In your dreams, how do YOU imagine The Garden of Eden?
Is it anything like these representations?

Maybe - but perhaps the lyricist has got it right in the song.

If Adam and Eve were wise,
They would not have to leave paradise,
They became worldly wise,
When Satan opened their eyes,
And had to march hand in hand out of paradise,
Adam had to earn his bread not somehow,
But by the sweat of his brow,
Eve for her part had to bring forth her offspring in pain,
Life was never the same again.
