How come the hovercraft seems to be moving but the propellers are NOT!

The propellers WERE definitely going round.

I think it was a stroboscopic optical effect, which stops movement.

You can sometimes see it on the wheels of fast-moving cars.

The photos remind me of home, an island here on the east coast of Canada. Have just read your poems in that new blog you mention above, but I'll save further comment about the lovely poems there. You're a dear soul kendrive.
